Ways to Give

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is comprised of unrestricted gifts that support the current budget year expenses. This fund helps ensure a balanced budget by bridging the gap between the actual cost of educating each student and the yearly tuition charged. Teacher training and salaries, library books, athletics, lab equipment, and school facilities, grounds and maintenance are all supported by the Annual Fund.

ScholarshipS

The scholarship program supports the tuition assistance program for students who cannot afford the full cost of attending Regis Jesuit. Donations can be made to the General Scholarship Fund for distribution during the current fiscal year, or a perpetual named scholarship can be created to fund tuition assistance over many years.
Visit the scholarship page for more information.

Alumni Class Scholarships

All alumni giving is directed to the Alumni Class Scholarships program, helping to provide tuition assistance to students who would otherwise not be able to attend Regis Jesuit. This year, Regis Jesuit will award $1.9 million in tuition assistance to nearly 400 young men and women (25% of our overall student population).

Sponsor a Student

The Sponsor a Student program provides tuition reduction to academically qualified students who demonstrate significant financial need. Through the Sponsor a Student program, the sponsor makes a four-year commitment to invest in the student’s education. Sponsors may establish additional criteria, for example identifying a student from a particular parish or one who represents a specific culture. The school determines the eligibility of the students and will do its best to match you with a student who meets the established criteria.

Capital Gifts

Capital gifts normally address large and carefully defined institutional priorities.

Restricted Gifts

Restricted Gifts are gifts designated by the donor for a specific purpose. Often these gifts support endowment funds that ensure Regis Jesuit remains an institution of the highest quality. Gifts specified for endowment purposes can be designated to support scholarships, teacher salaries or general purposes, as well as to fund new program development. Other restricted gifts provide funds for capital improvements.

Honor and Memorial Gifts

A gift in memory of someone you love or in honor of someone you admire can be a particularly meaningful way to contribute to Regis Jesuit. A memorial gift may be made to the Annual Fund or may be restricted or unrestricted.

Forms a Gift Can Take

Cash

An outright gift of cash qualifies as a charitable deduction for federal tax purposes. Current tax laws allow you to deduct the full amount of the gift in the year that it is given, provided the gift does not exceed fifty percent of your adjusted gross income. If more than fifty percent, the excess can be carried forward and deducted the following year or up to five years until the total amount of the deduction is satisfied.

Securities

A gift of securities, stocks or bonds entitles the giver to an income tax deduction; a gift of appreciated securities may also reduce capital gains tax liability to the donor. To transfer securities please contact Traci Holinger in the Advancement Office 303.269.8120.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Many businesses have matching gift programs that will multiply contributions by two, three or even four times the amount of a donation. If your employer has a matching gift program we urge you to take advantage of it. Since they are available from contributing firms each year, matching gifts can be a great boost to your regular giving. Click here to see if your company participates in a matching gift program, or contact Traci Holinger 303.269.8120 for a list of companies that make matching gifts to educational institutions.

Volunteer

Whether it is through our Alumni Association, fundraising activities, Parent Clubs, Mothers Clubs, or directly with a club, sport or academic subject, your help is needed. Many activities and programs only take place at school due to our volunteers! Your help can demonstrate to the students that our motto of developing Men and Women with and for Others is a reality for those who support Regis Jesuit High School.

Planned Gifts

Planned giving (or "gift planning") is a method of supporting organizations like Regis Jesuit that enables you to make larger gifts than you could typically make from your income. While some planned gifts provide lifelong income, others use estate and tax planning techniques to provide support for an organization and other heirs in ways that maximze the gift and/or minimize its impact on your estate. Thus, a planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death, as part of your overall financial and/or estate planning. Please visit the planned giving page or contact Jon Kraus at 303.269.8115 for more information.

Contributions to Regis Jesuit qualify as charitable deductions for federal income tax purposes and may help reduce tax liability. Your attorney or financial advisor can best provide tax information specific to your situation.
