FACULTY & STAFF LEARN ABOUT SUSTAINABLE FARMING

Several members of our faculty and staff, including Principal Tricco, donned hairnets and toured Altius Farms yesterday to learn more about sustainable farming.
An urban rooftop farm located just north of downtown Denver, Altius Farms has approximately 150 aeroponic tower gardens growing foods for restaurants and local community sourcing. During the tour, faculty got to see how nutrient-dense produce is grown in quantity using less than half the space and a fraction of resources, especially water, than is used in traditional farming. Altius has developed a curriculum around their practices and has resources for schools to use on their campuses that our tour group learned more about.
