Michael Buckley '63
Michael Buckley '63, longtime educator at Regis Jesuit High School, died peacefully at The Denver Hospice on February 15, 2020.
Mike was born in Denver in 1944 to Jack and Eileen Buckley. Mike's greatest joy in life has always been his family - his sister, Joan Buckley; his daughters, Susan Buckley (Alex Moreno) and Katie Thomas (Mark); his granddaughters, Zoe Thomas, Sydney Thomas and Alex Elizabeth Moreno; and his former wife, Trish Buckley.
All who knew Mike associate him with Regis Jesuit High School. Mike attended Regis himself and later returned to spend 38 years as a teacher and administrator. With his wonderful wit and endless kindness and compassion, Mike lived his life fully. Very quietly, never bringing attention to himself, he did everything he could to make our world a better place. Mike truly personified the Jesuit ideal of "a man for others."
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, February 29 at 10:00 am in the Blessed Rupert Mayer Chapel (Girls Division of Regis Jesuit High School - 6300 South Lewiston Way, Aurora, CO 80016 - see map for parking and location). A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regis Jesuit High School or The Denver Hospice.
