In Memoriam

Thomas Beatty

We are saddened to inform you that Thomas Beatty, father of Charles '91, Bridget, Kevin '93, Meghan, Conor '96, Michael '98 and Erin passed away on May 3 after a long illness.

"Tom grew up in Pueblo, CO, attended Pueblo Catholic High School and then Regis College in Denver where he earned a BA in Sociology and Philosophy. He continued his education in Latin American Studies at the University of the Americas in Mexico City before returning to join the Colorado National Guard. Tom loved learning and pursued teaching social studies while obtaining a pilot’s license and becoming a flight instructor. His longest career path of 20 years was in sales, where he attained the rank of Western Regional Sales Manager for Lever Brothers. He spent the next 20 years as both an entrepreneur and a manager for the Denver Housing Authority before retiring. Even with all these accomplishments, however, he would proudly boast that his greatest achievement was being the patriarch of seven wonderful children. Together with his devoted wife of 48 years, Debbie they raised their large family in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood and then Highlands Ranch. Tom was a man of a deep faith, involved in countless charitable endeavors and community outreach. Tom was curious and full of wonder. Not only did he love to learn about any possible subject, but also about each person he ever met. With his inquisitive nature, he made every person he encountered feel special and important… a rare gift." View the full obituary

To honor his lifelong passion for learning and commitment to the marginalized, the family has established a scholarship fund in his name to assist low-income students to attend Regis Jesuit High School. Donations and memorial gifts can be sent to www.regisjesuit.com/memorialgiving.
