Chris Vuletich '55

We are saddened to inform you that Chris Vuletich '55 passed away on July 25.

"Chris J. Vuletich, 82, prominent Denver Realtor, passed away from Alzheimer’s on July 25, 2020.  He was born on December 19, 1937, in  Denver, Colorado.  He was the son of immigrant parents – his father from Croatia and his mother from what is now Northern Italy. They instilled a strong work ethic in Chris, as well as his unwavering Catholic faith. In his childhood years, he delivered newspapers for the Denver Post. He would continue to hold a job while going to school from those earliest days through his college graduation. Chris was also an altar boy at Blessed Sacrament Church in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood, where he grew up, made friendships he maintained until his death, and raised his own family after marrying Carol Jean in 1959. In the few years before his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s, Chris volunteered at the devotional chapel at Risen Christ Catholic Parish from 2-3 a.m., every Tuesday, in Denver. Chris graduated from Regis High School in 1955 and then earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of Denver in 1962. He jumped into real estate, giving himself a deadline of 30 days to make his first sale, or else he would change careers. He made that sale and worked as a Realtor in Denver the next 52 years. He loved his work – especially helping first-time homebuyers finally achieve their “American dream,” and then continuing to help them in later years as their housing needs and desires changed. He could drive through any neighborhood in Denver and point out numerous houses he had sold, helped people purchase, or both – and often multiple times. Chris loved people and was known for his kind-hearted and forgiving nature. He will be missed by his family and many friends for his smile, humor, wisdom, generosity, love of life, and gentle, loving spirit.” Click here to view the obituary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org/co in his name.
