RJ STUDENTS SHOW LOVE AND CARE TO CHELSEA PLACE SENIORS

A compassionate group of RJ students, led by Olivia Baptiste '21 and the Girls Division Arrupe Club, shared Valentine's Day love with seniors at Chelsea Place, a senior living facility specializing in memory and Alzheimer's care. On Sunday, February 14, about 50 students decorated their vehicles with signs, streamers and balloons before driving them over to the facility to be part of an hour-long parade. Another dozen students bared sub-zero temperatures to remind senior residents through the windows that they are loved and missed this Valentine's Day. “We think of the residents as our friends and we have really wanted to come back to spend more time with them. We hope this car parade will show them how much we care,” said Baptiste. Many of the students had previously volunteered at Chelsea Place as part of Regis Jesuit's Service Projects and Service Learning Program before the pandemic started.
