THREE JESUITS WITH TIES TO RJ TO BE ORDAINED IN JUNE

In June, five Jesuits from the USA Central and Southern Province will be ordained to the priesthood. Three of them have ties to Regis Jesuit—Brian Strassburger, SJ '02, Chris Kellerman, SJ and Louis Hotop, SJ.
Great Raider Brian Strassburger, SJ '02, volunteered or worked with a variety of non-profit agencies before joining the Jesuits in 2011. Most recently he has served as the editor-in-chief for The Jesuit Post. Following his ordination, Strassburger will serve in the Diocese of Brownsville, Texas, responding to pastoral needs in the area, especially those of the migrant community.

Chris Kellerman, SJ spent his three-year Regency teaching at Regis Jesuit from 2015-18 and is currently working at the Jesuit Social Research Institute (JSRI) at Loyola University New Orleans. He is also serving as a deacon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, LA. Following ordination, Kellerman will serve as a priest at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and interim director of JSRI in New Orleans.

As a Jesuit Novice in 2010, Louis Hotop, SJ spent time at Regis Jesuit helping in the Girls Division Pastoral Office, library and subbing. He also taught English in the Boys Division during the summer of 2014 and remained connected to the school while he was assigned to Arrupe Jesuit for his Regency between 2015-18. After ordination, Hotop will minister to migrant communities on the U.S.-Mexico border in the Diocese of Brownsville, Texas, and assist in diocesan parishes.

Hotop, Kellerman and Strassburger, along with their Jesuit brother James Page, will be ordained on Saturday, June 12 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in New Orleans. You can watch the livestream on YouTube at 9:00 am MDT.
Daniel Mora Arenas, SJ, will be ordained in Bogotá, Colombia on June 3, 2021 at San Javier (Francis Xavier) Parish. Read the official USA Central and Southern Province news release for more details.

We join the Society of Jesuit in celebrating these men on receiving the Sacrament of Holy Orders and their continued commitment to apostolic service with and for others.
