RJ PERFORMING ARTS SHARES MUSIC WITH LOCAL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

On October 12, the members of both the Vox Lucis and Canta Belles choirs joined voices with the middle school students from neighboring Catholic elementary school, Most Precious Blood. Coordinated by RJ Performing Arts Teacher, Bernie Sauer '97 and MPB Assistant Principal Roxie Mountain-Weed, who also happens to be Mr. Sauer's mother-in-law, the student groups gathered for fun, laughter and, of course, music! Vox Lucis performed All of Me with Maysun Simonson '23 as soloist, while the Canta Belles sang their legacy number Homeward Bound featuring Carly Fischer '23 and Lucy Coughlon '23 as soloists and Gabby Chernoff '23 on piano. To end the festivities, the Most Precious Blood middle schoolers joined in singing What Do I Know? by Ed Sheeran. To the awe and admiration of the fifth-grade students, Soren Freund '22 sang a stellar rendition of the opening solo. It was a wonderful moment of music shared between two fellow school communities. We are grateful to Most Precious Blood for hosting this musical gathering, a time very much cherished and missed during the last year due to the pandemic.
