SPEECH & DEBATE EARNS TWO TOP NATIONAL AWARDS FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR

The Speech & Debate Team, led by moderators Miranda Smith '13 and James Woodall, has been recently honored with not one but two national awards by the National Speech & Debate Association Association in recognition of the team’s competitive record for the 2021-22 school year.
The team earned the Leading Chapter Award, the highest recognition a school can receive from the National Speech & Debate Association, based on member participation and degrees per district earned throughout the school year. Regis Jesuit was one of only 109 schools nationally to receive this prominent award and will be honored with a commemorative plaque at the district tournament later this year.

Also, based on strength points earned with Honor Society points and degrees based on competition, leadership and service activities for the 2021-22 school year, the National Speech & Debate Association once again recognized Regis Jesuit as a member of the prestigious 100 Club—a  remarkable milestone demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills including communication, research, listening, writing and organization.

We are very proud of our Speech & Debate Team for this achievement. Way to go!
