  • Developing Skills for Success

The best outcomes are the result of hard work, research and thoughtful preparation on the part of the student.
We have found that those students who are happiest throughout the college process are those who understand their abilities and needs, dedicate time to research and visit colleges and are thorough, thoughtful, organized and balanced in their approach. There are many rites of passage as adolescents move toward independence. Done well, the college search and application process provides an opportunity for students to develop skills essential for success in college and in life. Our expectation is that students take ownership of the college application process. As college counselors, we will support, guide and encourage students to move toward greater independence and accountability.
