Colin Day '02

Colin Day '02 passed away on October 1, 2023.

"Born and raised in Denver, Colorado; Colin graduated from Regis Jesuit High School and the University of Denver.  As a nationally ranked junior tennis player and member of the Regis High School tennis team, he was a two-time individual State champion and helped Regis to a team State championship in 2000. He was a member of the DU men’s tennis team and graduated with a BA in Theatre. In 2006, Colin moved to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for the performing arts. He was a long-time member of the Elephant Theatre Company, appearing in many performances, and producing a workshop adaption of the play “Red Light Winter”. While living in LA, he was a lead or support actor in several independent feature films including “Loneliest Road in America” and “Queen of Carthage”. In 2014, Colin moved to London to pursue film production in the European market and founded Rickshaw Entertainment, a film and television production company.  He is an alumnus and member of ACE Producers (2017), Rotterdam Producing Lab (2017), Trans Atlantic Partners (2016), and Film Independent.  He was the lead producer on the feature film “Nocturnal” which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in 2019, was cinematically released in the UK and Ireland, and screened at the Denver Film Festival in 2020. Colin completed his professional tennis teaching USPTA and PTR certifications while living in London. He returned to Denver in late 2020 and continued to develop and produce film and TV projects while also working full-time as a tennis teaching professional. He will be remembered as an exemplary teacher and mentor to his many tennis clients and film production associates worldwide." Click here to view the full obituary.
