Arriving in our home for the next five days.
Hello (or hola?),
Welcome to campo!! But first let's begin with last night...
This is Sophie. It's 11pm at night. I am ready to expect a peaceful shower, however... I am surprised by cockroaches. Yes. Two roaches staring at me in the shower. I scream for help. It’s heard throughout the whole building. No one comes. HELP ME! Talya runs in ready to save me. The roaches are crawling on the wall and onto the shower curtain. In order to save myself, I punched the shower curtain away from me. The roach flies... flying, flying, flying. It hits Talya right in the center of the forehead. She screams. She runs. She does not escape. Caleigh runs out into the hallway for help. She stumbles upon John who is no use ("Eagle Scout," who?). The roaches disappear. Where are they? No one knows. Anyway, so ends the night with some room bonding where we got to know each other as friends (amigas). Next day starts.
Caleigh has begun writing this section!!
Next morning, post-cockroaches, I wake up and flip to my side, and am staring directly at a lizard... the lizard looks back at me. We make eye contact. I calmly state, “Guys there are lizards in the room.” No one believes me. The lizard moves. I am scared. I grab my shoe to try to capture it. The lizard is a bit too fast para me. I don’t know exactly where he went, but I don’t have to worry about that now, because I am at campo!!
Time to learn dominoes!! We pick up the game fast, and Sophie and I won!! Victory! 😉 Anyways, we then go to pack for campo, the chaos begins. Room is very messy, food is everywhere, no one is thinking about the room key. Why are we not thinking about the key??
Sadly, the girls room messes up, and we leave the key in the room, something for which we are very disappointed in ourselves. The bus leaves. The views. WOW! Lots of violations of traffic laws by the bus driver, but couldn’t have had a better person to navigate the hills of the Dominican Republic. Sophie and Caleigh hold on for dear life.
When we got there, many card games and volleyball matches were played. Games like spoons, UNO, Egyptian Rat Slap, May I, Please?, etc. The volleyball games involve several lost balls rolling down the mountain.
This is Sophia!
I had so much fun today. I was dancing and playing volleyball. Love you, Mom. Also, there are tons of random cats and dogs. Everyone is super nice!!
Connor-

Patrick-
Hey guys. I sleep next to a donkey. It's pretty chill, though. The people here are cool. I miss you guys, and I want to hug my brother.
C’ya.
EDITOR'S NOTE: The internet is understandably not great up here at the top of the mountain, so pictures will likely be sparse.
