We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving nearly 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
Hola from Tijuana, today is day five and let’s just say our day was jam packed!
We started out with breakfast bright and early at the hour of eight in the morning, boy oh boy were we tired.
After a filling meal, we headed out on the town. Our journey in the vans led us to the oldest park in down town Tijuana. Our eyes were greeted with amazing sights including a variety of food stands, people playing games with friends, and many people even dancing. Believe it or not many of the girls hopped in on a salsa class, and let’s just say, WE HAD A BLAST!!!!!
Next we took to the streets of down town Tijuana and started on foot to the place where Esther Morales later taught us how to make tamales. This was one of our favorite parts of today. The tamale making was incredibly fun and getting to hear Esther’s story was very heartwarming for all of us. We got to indulge in three types of tamales: Elote (corn), carne (meat), and roja (spicy). All which were incredibly tasty!
Then, we moved onto our final destination for the day, the mercado (which is Spanish for market if you don’t know!) When there, we bought many different things, some of which may even be for you guys reading this ;). We also tried new foods. Addi and I (Samira) tried a chai azteca, and Evan even branched out to the point of trying a pig nose!!
Then, we all got into the vans and came back home, where we ate the most scrumptious dinner of cilantro chicken and white rice, and where Oee and Vivi filled our rooms with balloons as valentines! And let’s just say our bellies were almost as full as our hearts, and we haven’t been able to contain our smiles all day!
So excited to see you all and share more. Happy Valentines Day to everyone in the big CO!!!!
