We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving nearly 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
Today was our last full day with the group here in Guadalupe with many activities with the kids, 2 wonderful walking tours, and a goodbye celebration for the group and host families.
Our day started off with our daily ritual of small groups of sports with the kids and a competitive game of "Knock-Out". Following the games, we had one last big lunch with the leaders and kids as we shared our memories from the week. We had the opportunity to hike the overlook of Cerro Puta/Guadalupe with fresh breezes and a wonderful view. We also got to tour a farm and learned about what plants they grow and how they grown them with a special hike of the onion garden. Our evening ended with our Despedida of showing the Folklore dance we had prepared for the host families and a shared dinner. The night ended with one last overlook of the river with the group and kids. The quality of time spent together on our last day had everyone reflect on the values of connection and community. With it being our last day, we came together as one with more bonds and gained more values of unity and growth. One take away for me was even though there could be language barriers between individuals, we are all still humans and can connect with games of frisbee, long walks through the streets of Guadalupe, and shared meals of different flavors.
