ALL IT TAKES IS ONE

Mae, Ellie, Paula
Today was our first day at the Tennyson Center.
Once we got there everyone was split into different rooms and different floors, with various grade levels. There were the neurotypical classrooms and the ASPEN (students with intellectual developmental disabilities) classes.

We rarely saw each other during the day, but we all came together to reflect at the end. Each one of us had a different experience in our classrooms and we talked through both the challenges we saw and the wins we had. With varied responses, we all came to different emotional responses to what we had encountered today.

After our first day, we came back and unwound in different ways: some slept, some colored, some read, and others talked. Then Mackenzie, Riley, and Emory made us delicious chicken quesadillas and fajitas.

All in all, today was a roller coaster of emotions and energy levels. A few of us had chaotic rides with high energy, while other rooms were significantly lower energy. We cannot wait for the challenges tomorrow.
