THE NEW ARRIVALS

Charlie, Connor, and Benton
The one where we meet our new housemates.
Sunday 10/11/2026

Arrived at Casa Caribou at 4:00pm, There are a lot of mirrors and décor on the walls, our host Julia told us  the house is 140 years old. After we picked our bunk bed spots, The hosts introduced themselves in the living room of the house. We went through the logistics of our stay and then met the kids. We all went outside to the backyard for a little while and played with them. We scootered, Hacky sacked, played on the trampoline and threw the football. There are 5 kids in the house: Hans, who’s two years old. Axl, who loves sports. Juniper, who is very social and caring older sister. Kristen, who likes to fiddle with the guitar, crochet, do arts and crafts, and introduce himself. There’s a mystery kid we haven’t met yet. Keep y’all updated.

After about 20 minutes of hanging out, lead chef, Reed, and his squad went into the casa to chef up some dinner. They made pasta with Bolognese sauce which was far better tasting than anyone expected. After dinner we had some down time, some of us played hacky sack, relaxed and did dishes. Once the boys were done with dishes, we went down to the bunk room to play poker. Charlie won big money and he owns the poker table. After poker, we all went to the living room to reflect on our half day.

We talked about what we’re excited for and nervous for. That meeting got us all prepared for a constructive week with the kids at the Tennyson center. After the meeting, we all played poker again for some down time, then hit the lights.

As we are on the brink of our experience, we are excited to meet and create relationships with the kids at Tennyson. We understand that many of the experiences those kids have gone through are foreign to us, we intend to be as accommodating and caring as possible. We strive to leave an impact that not only the kids remember, but the staff as well. We are focused on bringing an uplifting and positive attitude toward any activity we encounter throughout this week.
