We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving nearly 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
Tourist day in Tegucigalpa, went to mass, tried new fruit at the fruit market, and hung out at the park with the scholars.
Today we woke up a bit earlier than our usual schedule. We went to celebrate mass at the Basilica of Suyapa. There were many kids there receiving their first communion which was great to witness. After the mass we went upstairs to the museum in the same chapel were we saw artifacts from the history of the church. Our awesome guides gifted us with some blessed flower petals. We then went to the street market to buy a couple of souvenirs (I got a super cute slipper on a keychain). We walked over to the fruit market and tried many new snacks. We tried lychee, Spanish limes, zapote, mini mitos, ciruela, and coconut water. There were so so many different variations of the coconuts such as dried coconut, dried coconut with condensed milk (which I will learn how to make it was amazing), soft coconut candy and much more. We walked through the rest of the market where we found a section of meat and fish. After we left the market we went to a pizza place were we met a couple of the kids from International Samaritan. The pizza was great with a bunch of different toppings. We got back on the bus with the kids while we drove to the park. We got off the bus to take a few pictures and walked the rest of the way. At the park we were welcomed by amazing music from a band and some nice scenery. We walked around the park and went up a very steep temple. There were many other sites that we saw at the park before we headed out. We said some sad goodbyes and went back to the bus which was filled with laughter marking an to end our time in Houndras. See you soon parents!!
