PRESIDENT CARD REFLECTS ON RELATIONAL AND TRANSFORMATIONAL EDUCATION

In a recent article published by the Jesuits Central and Southern Province, Regis Jesuit High School President David Card ’87 highlights how the school is leading the way in creating an environment that fosters relational and transformational learning. Grounded in its strong Jesuit identity and the principle of cura personalis—care for the whole person—Regis Jesuit continues to expand its commitment to access, innovation and mission as outlined in its Inspire and Ignite 2025 strategic plan. Central to this work is increasing opportunities for students across the Denver area to receive a Regis Jesuit education through robust financial aid and scholarship programs.
Regis Jesuit’s distinctive educational model offers an innovative single-sex academic experience for its nearly 1,700 students. As one of only two schools in the world to operate both a Boys Division and a Girls Division within one unified institution, the school provides students with the advantages of a primarily single-sex classroom environment while also creating meaningful opportunities to collaborate, serve, pray, study and socialize together outside the classroom.

Card notes that this unique structure supports the school’s mission to form leaders and difference-makers grounded in both intellect and compassion and sees these efforts as essential to how Regis Jesuit helps form graduates who embody the Jesuit ideal of becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
