Days Four and Five--Winding Down

Wednesday: We all woke up with the sound of the classic “Call Me Maybe.”  It sprung us out of bed like the also classic meme of Drake, smelling pie. Our ears perked up, and we ran downstairs like a bunch of ants ready to conquer the day. With some cream cheese in our bellies, and candy shoved in our pockets, we climbed into the van with nothing but coffee breath and enthusiasm. As we arrived at the Tennyson Center, we were greeted by the children and staff, and overall had a stressful but rewarding day. Everybody had a different experience, and some classrooms had easier days than others, but we were all able to come together and talk about it. We then entered the van with our hearts full and eyes tired. When we got back we ran to the kitchen and stuffed our pockets and bowls with delicious and energizing Cheetos, Lays, candy, and Oreos. We then had rest time to ourselves getting us ready for the big night ahead of mass and delicious lasagna with our CVV hosts. The night was shared with vulnerability, laughter, and warm sugar cookies bringing all of us together as one big happy family. We then closed our night with some coloring and light chit chat before resting our eyes and falling into a deep slumber ready for our next day.

              Thursday: Our day started similarly today, but instead of eating dinner with CVV, our fellow Regis sisters, Massy, Sarai, and Sam, are making us some mouth watering burgers tonight which we are looking forward to devouring.  We are planning on writing thank you notes and coming together as one since it’s our last night. We hope to share some final laughs together tonight while snacking on some unhealthy snacks and watching a movie. Looking forward to seeing all our friends and family at the celebration tomorrow afternoon!
