Immersion Experience: Ecuador

PRE-DEPARTURE BLOG FOR IMMERSION TO QUITO

Suzanne Toohill, Chaparone
I am testing this so I feel confident to post tomorrow evening from Quito! :)
I am excited to be back at The Center for Working Families. I was a year-long volunteer in 1990 and it was a wonderful and meaningful experience and am happy to accompany your sons and daughters on this immersion.

We will write a blog each evening and post a few pictures so that you can see what we are experiencing.

For now, I am posting a photo of the founder, Padre Juan Halligan, SJ and Madre Miguel Conway, BVM. Padre Juan founded the mission in 1964 and it was originally called El Centro del Muchacho Trabajador- which translates to The Working Boys Center. Madre Miguel joined shortly after it's founding. They were both running The Center when I was a volunteer.

Mr. Jason Beyer, Mr. Aldo Pantoja and I can't wait to see your children tomorrow morning bright and early and look forward to taking this transformative journey of faith, hope and love with them. We truly will see God in every person.
