DAY 4: TRANSFORMATIONS
Hi everyone! Today we got to work on lavender that we transformed into gifts for the kids we got to visit later this afternoon.
We woke up to a rooster reminding us that it was time for another amazing breakfast prepared by Gabi and Griselda, our amazing concineras. We were blessed with eggs, chips and salsa, and beans to start our day.
After breakfast, we quickly got ready to organize the lavender we harvested yesterday in the garden. We made an assembly line to cut, organize, and strip the lavender to create gifts of sachets or dried bundles for the children we would meet later today.
After a few hours of work, we had PB&J’s for lunch and got chances to film B roll for our documentaries.
Next we headed to a home for children born with HIV. We got to hear its backstory, mission, and future plans to make it an even better home for their children in the coming future. We were then given the chance to spend time outside with the kids playing frisbee, soccer or basketball, or indoors coloring or beading! Overall, it was a great way to spend time and build meaningful connection with kids so full of joy.
We then returned to a dinner of flautas and vegetable soup then after dinner, we started to wind down with reflections then went to bed transformed again before our busy day tomorrow.
