RAIDERS WIN FIRST ANNUAL HOLY WAR TRI

Regis Jesuit went 2-0 at the first annual Holy War Tri, knocking off two top-ten teams in the state. The Raiders defeated Holy Family (No. 10 in 3A) 35-32 in a hard-fought battle highlighted by Dane Anderson '26 coming back from a large deficit to pin the No. 3 wrestler at 120 lbs in 3A, who defeated him at the NCCT.
The Raiders then took advantage of some missing starters from a tough Mullen High squad and won the dual by a sizable 59-19 margin. This match was highlighted by Aidan Sullivan '27 outlasting a top-ten opponent, coming back from an 11-point deficit to get the win by pin.

Our Varsity Team competed in the meat-grinder Arvada West Invitational, placing 10th overall out of 34 teams while only representing seven of a possible 14 weight classes. We were led by two finalists, Richard Avila '26 and Aidan Sullivan '27. Both wrestlers fell in their championship bouts to place second. Dane Anderson '26 found redemption from another defeat at NCCT and won his third-place match against a top-ranked opponent and returning state place winner. Gavin Anderson '26 also had a good day, going 3-2 overall, losing two hard-fought battles to top-seeded wrestlers.

Also, on Saturday, our JV Team competed in the Rock Canyon Invitational, ending the day with four placers, placing 10th overall out of 23 teams while also not filling half of a roster. We hope to get higher numbers next year! Rock Canyon Jaguar JV Invitational placers were Dean Anderson '29 in third place, Clayton Damrath '27 in fourth place, Joaquin Valdez '28 in third place and Leo Landini '28 in fifth place.

Way to go, Raiders!
