We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving nearly 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
A day of labor, reflection, conversation, and sports.
Today we started the day by picking up where we left off by collecting gravel and sand in buckets for the community project. We carried the materials in wheelbarrows and buckets up and down a large, muddy, and forested hill. We used the materials to help the community build a floor using the rocks and sand. After the hard work, we got to spend time with the kids! We split up and some of us played duck, duck, goose while some of us played a bit of rugby and soccer on the court. We had another amazing lunch of tacos, followed by some impactful firsthand stories of some of the scholars of International Samaritan. We learned about the resilience despite tragedy especially with the strong women in the community. It was inspiring to hear their motivation to fight for a better life for themselves and their kids. After hearing the impactful stories, we finished the day with more bonding time with the community in which we are now fully immersed. We played more sports (soccer, rugby, basketball) and we also played board games and painted with the kids. It was emotional to see the joy and the impact that we gifted one another through each other’s company. We are looking forward to the opportunity tomorrow to explore the city of Tegucigalpa and invite some of the scholars to spend time with us at the park!
