Immersion Experience: Honduras
2026, SAN PEDRO SULA, DAY ZERO
In preparation for the immersion trip, our group has been meeting regularly.
We have learned a bit about families who live near garbage dumps outside of large cities, collecting materials they can sell for recycling.
International Samaritan is our host organization. They work with families in the garbage dump communities, helping their children attend school, rather than picking through garbage.
International Samaritan was founded in the early 1990's by Fr. Don Vettese SJ and students from St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo. The organization provides school uniforms, school supplies, and community centers for the families.
