Board of Trustees

James Goeke, SJ

Fr. Jim Goeke joined the Board of Trustees in June 2017 and is a member of the Mission & Ignatian Stewardship Committee. He served as the Superior of the Jesuit Community and taught math at Regis Jesuit for six years before moving to serve as Minister of the Community at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley in the summer 2023. Fr. Jim is a 1976 alumnus of St. Louis University High School, who joined the Jesuits in 1977 and was ordained in 1988. He holds a master’s degree in philosophy along with high school teaching certification in mathematics from Saint Louis University. He also has a Master of Divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley and a Master of Religious Education from Boston College’s Institute of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry. Throughout his career, Fr. Jim has served at St. Louis University High School, St. Francis Xavier Parish in Kansas City and as a board-certified chaplain at Saint Louis University Hospital, after serving as a chaplain resident at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Just prior to coming to Regis Jesuit, Fr. Jim served as Assistant Director of Novices for the Jesuit Novitiate in Grand Coteau, LA.
