VARSITY BASEBALL HITS 13 HOMERS FOR SINGLE-GAME NATIONAL RECORD

The Varsity Baseball Team made history on Friday, May 7 as they blasted 13 home runs in their game against Dakota Ridge, beating the Eagles with a final score of 21-2. According to the National Federation of State High School Associations' (NFHS) record book, the 13 homers are the second-most all-time nationally, following 16 longshots hit in a game in 1928.
Dallas Macias '22, Max Valdez '21 and Charlie Doubet '21 each sent three over the fence while Isaac Wachsmann '22, Nate McHugh '22, Alec Willis '21 and Finn O'Connor '22 added one each to the scoreboard.

Senior pitcher, Alec Willis '21 is also making a name for himself this season with his fastball clocked as high as 97 mph in a recent game against Valor Christian. His strong pitching is turning heads both state-wide and nationally. After recovering from elbow surgery last year, he continues to work hard and aims to be stronger than ever to finish his career at Regis Jesuit. Also noted as one to watch is right-handed pitcher, Brooks Gerig '22. Way to go, Raiders!
