We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving more than 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
GIRLS DIVISION STUDENTS EXPLORE ENGINEERING AT THE DESIGN@MINES SHOWCASE
Twelve Girls Division students, along with chaperones, science teachers Sandy Robertson and Liz Smith and Director of the Innovation Center George Mitsuoka, headed to the Colorado School of Mines earlier this month to participate in the Design@Mines Showcase. The students began the day talking over coffee with five leaders of the Mines Society of Women Engineers to learn about their experiences as engineering, computer science, physics and math majors. They then were each paired with a Mines student to walk through the showcase—a judged event where cross-functional design teams of senior Mines students present their projects which have been sponsored by companies or individuals seeking solutions. The group’s favorite projects were a proposal for a flood control solution for Glenwood Springs and an amphibious vehicle called a “biyak” that combines the functions of a kayak with a bicycle.
Following the showcase, the group met up with students and alumni from Arrupe Jesuit and were treated to a picnic hosted by Terrance Tschatschula, father of alums Ellen ’16 and Lauren ’19, who encouraged the students to consider careers in engineering. Mines President Paul Johnson also stopped by and gave the group an update on the latest projects at Mines--the Labriola Innovation Center and the Beck Venture Center. The entire excursion provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore the idea of engineering as a college major and career and ties directly one of the initiatives of our strategic plan—exposing more young women to opportunities in STEM to help close the gender gap.
