Margaret Ann (Burch) Reidy

We are saddened to inform you that Margaret Ann (Burch) Reidy, mother to Michael Reidy '72, sister to William Burch '50 and Maurice Reidy '51 (also deceased), and grandmother to Patrick Reidy '04, Timothy Reidy '05, Catherine (Reidy) Kress '09, Parker Witt '09 (also deceased), Brendan Witt '09, Emily Witt '11 and Molly (Reidy) Montijo '11, passed away on September 2, 2022.

"A gracious, welcoming host, she was also blessed with innumerable life-long friends. Marge, a woman of many talents and interests, was a world traveler (including North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and South America), an accomplished bridge player, an opera aficionado and an excellent cook. She was exceptionally well-read and enjoyed playing the piano. She loved an exciting new adventure, spending time in the mountains with her family, an interesting book, a difficult crossword or jigsaw puzzle, extremely dark chocolate, a good Manhattan and her Denver Broncos. Always guided by her profound faith and deeply-instilled values, she was wise, insightful, kind and caring and, at the same time, pragmatic, candid (some would say "blunt") and matter-of-fact. She was strong. She had a career in the Social Service Administration before she married and in real estate after her husband passed away, but she devoted herself to volunteer work, including at Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance Center where she worked weekly until she was 92. She was an active member of Christ the King Catholic parish. She led a beautiful, joyful, quietly-inspirational life with elegance and grace, despite significant challenges along the way."
