We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving more than 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
RJ CELEBRATES FINAL PROFESSION OF VOWS OF FR. ERIC RAMIREZ, SJ
At the all-school All Saints Day Mass on November 1, the Regis Jesuit community had the incredible opportunity to celebrate a significant milestone for one of its Jesuits, Fr. Eric Ramirez, SJ. In front of a fully-packed Guy Gibbs '47 Gym filled with students, faculty and staff, special guests and his family members, Padre—as he is affectionately called by students and community members alike—pronounced his Final Vows to the Society of Jesus. This is the last formal step in his Jesuit formation in which he solemnly promises to live out the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
Fr. Thomas Greene, SJ, the provincial of the Jesuits U.S. Central and Southern Province, presided at the Mass, which was concelebrated by our RJ Jesuits and Jesuits from the Denver-area apostolates as well as some of Fr. Ramirez's Jesuit friends. The liturgy featured music chosen by Fr. Ramirez and performed by Vox Lucis and the Canta Belles, our advanced choirs, under the direction of Bernie Sauer ’97, and the String Orchestra, directed by Julie Bruchs. Under the direction of Karen Wuertz, a special choir of faculty and staff sang a setting a St. Ignatius’ Suscipe prayer during the preparation of the altar.
Immediately following Mass, Fr. Eric completed his final step of the rite in a private ceremony among members of the Jesuit community, by taking five simple vows which include obedience to the provincial, continued promise of poverty and not to ambition to higher offices within the Society of Jesus and the Catholic Church. The community then celebrated the occasion with cookies in the quad where students also signed banners congratulating Padre on this milestone.
This was a rare and incredible grace to witness Fr. Ramirez's acceptance of the invitation of the Superior General of the Society of Jesus to become fully incorporated into the order. We are blessed to have Padre as part of our community and congratulate him on this momentous occasion.
