REGIS JESUIT HOSTS JESUIT CUP CLASSIC HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

On January 12-15, five teams from Jesuit schools across the country joined with the Regis Jesuit Club Hockey Team to take part in the 2024 Jesuit Cup Classic, an annual tournament hosted each year at a different Jesuit school showcasing both friendly on-ice competition and camaraderie amongst fellow Jesuit school athletes.
Teams traveled to Denver from Bellarmine College Prep (San Jose, CA), Gonzaga College High School (Washington, D.C.), Saint Ignatius College Prep (Chicago, IL), Jesuit College Prep (Dallas, TX) and Rockhurst High School (Kansas City, MO) to join the RJ Club Hockey Team, who won this year's tournament. The Raiders finished with a 3-0-1 record and a total of seven points.

In addition to competing in a multi-game showcase throughout the weekend, players and coaches spent some time visiting the Regis Jesuit campus on the morning of Sunday, January 14. The group celebrated a special Mass together in the Blessed Rupert Mayer Chapel followed by a catered breakfast, where they enjoyed connecting and breaking bread together before heading off to friendly competition. With outside temps in the single digits, being inside the rink all weekend actually proved to be the warmer climate.

The weekend was filled with great hockey competition, the opportunity to host other schools on the RJ campus and more importantly, build unity among fellow Jesuit schools in both faith and the love of hockey.

We are grateful to the families, coaches and athletes who participated in this year's Jesuit Cup Classic for their incredible support of this amazing and fun weekend.

Way to be with and for Others, Raiders!
