2020-21 Pom Team Tryout Information
Mandatory Parent Info Meeting:
Monday, March 30th 6 pm in Girls Division Rm 228, (enter thru East Cafeteria Entrance)
Pre-Tryout Clinics:
Monday, April 6th & Wednesday, April 8th 4-6 pm in Girls Division Rm 228
- On Monday April 6th we will focus on a Pom Combo and Pom Technique
- On Wed. April 8th we will focus on a Jazz (lyrical) Combo and Jazz Technique
- Cost: $20 per clinic or $35 for both.
2020-21 Pom Team Tryouts
Tuesday, April 14th – Thursday, April 16th 4-6:30 pm in Girls Gym
- Tryout Packets will be handed out at Parent Info Meeting
- Tryouts will consist of a pom combo, jazz combo, and technique assessment.
- On top of the skills below, dancers will be judged on memorization of combo, style, sharpness, and showmanship/performance.
Team Technique Requirements
Varsity
- Several years dance experience
- Pirouettes (minimum of 3 consistent on right, 4 preferred)
- Right, Left, & Center Leaps
- Tours/Fouettes, Outside Box Tours
- Toe Touch
- Turning Disc
- Calypso
- Right & Left High Kicks
JV
- Some dance experience
- Pirouettes (minimum of 2 consistent on right)
- Right & Left Leaps
- Toe Touch
- Turning Disc
- Right & Left High Kicks
