We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving nearly 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
We started the day in San Diego, crossed the border on foot with all of our luggage in tow, and truly began our immersion in Tijuana.
Today we crossed the border! After driving out of our hotel in San Diego we got dropped off at the West Pedestrian Border Crossing and made our way through into Tijuana. The contrast was stark, we started in swish San Diego and moved through the rough raw materials of the crossing point, and then into Tijuana, which was definitely less developed than its counterpart, only being 20 minutes away. Our first destination in Tijuana was Friendship Park, which runs along side the primary border wall. Here we saw the bright colors, dreams, joy, and hope of many Tijuana residents as they continue to deal with a multitude of injustice due to the wall. Faced with this harsh reality we found our own ways to recognize the realities of the marginalized and find a way to enjoy our time here. After a tour of Friendship Park, we were given time to find a place to eat our lunch, with this we filmed our surroundings, the ocean, people, shops, and even some food reviews. We continued our journey to Comunidad de Luz, a center for children, and migrant women. Here we played soccer, interacted with kids, ate dinner together, prayed and reflected. We lead prayer after dinner and are beyond excited for the rest of our journey here. :)
