SAN PEDRO SULA: DAY 5

Robynn Pigford '25 Taylor Hoffman '25
Today was mostly a day of connections and reflections in the town of Tela. Our group got to spend some time together and form a better bond.
From our reflection tonight we pondered on a parable that relates to the societal issues of the community that we work with. We reflected on the idea of justice verses charity, relating it back to the issues of trash, government, and lack of opportunities. Justice is our end goal, but charity is something we are doing now in the community. For example, we carried out the charity aspect by picking up the trash around the houses, even though we were not able to pick it all up. Tomorow we are looking forward to building the benches and playing soccer with the scholars and the group coming in from Tegucigalpa!
