We are a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory high school serving nearly 1700 young men and women in grades 9-12 in becoming Men and Women with and for Others.
With nearly 150 years of history behind us, we are a Roman Catholic educational community rooted firmly in the nearly 500-year-old model of Jesuit education, leading the way in preparing students for the 21st century.
Our unique educational model combines the advantages of single-sex instruction with opportunities for young men and women to collaborate, serve, pray and socialize together to form the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
The strength of Regis Jesuit is found in the depth and diversity of its broad community of students, parents and alumni who strengthen and share their gifts through a lifelong Raider experience.
The transformational student experience has been developed thanks to a long tradition of generous philanthropic support of our enduring educational mission.
Tegucigalpa downtown sight seeing and some shopping.
What a day! We spent most of our time immersing ourselves in the city’s culture. We started off by visiting a couple churches with stained glass and sculptures. It was very interesting to see how religion is consistent throughout the world while local representations are different; we visited the renown Basilica of our Patroness the Virgen de Suyapa. We then made our way to the markets. We explored an open food market and tried various fruits: Lychee, Cocos, and Guayaba. We enjoyed some cultural staples of food like pupusas before venturing deeper into the market to explore material goods. Some of us got handmade jewelry, national soccer jerseys, and souvenirs/keepsakes. After our market journey, we joined the becados and the group leaders and were treated to a pizza party lunch. We shared many laughs, smiles, and stories of where we come from, and of course, the pizza brought us together! After our wonderful lunch we made our way to the park. We hiked up to the Cristo del Picacho statue and posed for some pictures while admiring the amazing view of the entire city. The park represented many different cultures by the way. On our way back to the hotel we were met with heavy rain and traffic, but we remedied it with a nap and some guessing games. We are looking forward to getting back to the community tomorrow that has now become like our family.
