Andrea McEwen
We are saddened to inform you that Andrea McEwen, mother of Charlotte Wagner '10, passed away on April 25.
"Andrea McEwen (65), beloved wife of Peter McEwen, died peacefully at home in Greenwood Village on April 25, 2021 surrounded by her family. Andrea was born March 11, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri, but lived most of her life in the Denver area. She earned a BA in commercial Spanish from the University of Colorado Boulder and an MA in Spanish from CU Denver. A lifelong supporter of her alma mater, Andrea served as Vice Chancellor of the Office of Advancement at CU Denver. There she led her team in encouraging and facilitating investment in CU Denver, engaging and cultivating the interest of friends and prospective donors, and elevating the profile of CU Denver alumni. Prior to joining CU Denver in 2010 as Senior Director of Development for the Business School, Andrea directed sales, sales management, and market management projects in financial institutions across North America. Andrea was an excellent golfer. She participated in weekly league play and enjoyed playing famous courses, including St. Andrews, Augusta National, Pebble Beach, and most recently Bandon Dunes. After marrying Peter, she became an enthusiastic hockey fan and worked tirelessly on behalf of the Colorado Stars hockey team. Andrea also was a master cook and gracious hostess, welcoming friends and family to regular parties and dinners with Peter at their home." Click here to view the full obituary.
In honor of Andrea, contributions can be made to a memorial fund to support the CU Denver scholarship that she championed for student success.
