In Memoriam

Daniel Porreco '54

We are saddened to inform you that Daniel Porreco '54, father of Michael '75, Vincent '81 and Daniel '83, passed away on January 12, 2022.

"Daniel (Dan) Porreco was born July 17, 1936 to Daniel & Anna (Muro) Porreco. Dan grew up in Welby, Colorado and was a lifelong Colorado resident. He graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in 1954. He attended Regis College before marrying the love of his life Norma (Florida) on February 12, 1956 at Our Lady Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Dan worked for the United States Postal Service for 36 years before retiring to spend time with his beloved family. Dan truly enjoyed his retirement. Papa "D" could be seen at every one of his grandchildren's ball games, cheering them on as their #1 fan. Dan lived by and taught his family the three most important things in life: Faith, Family & Friends and he lived true to that every day of his 85 years. Dan was an avid baseball fan. He and Norma were proud Colorado Rockies season ticket holders. Dan was honored in 2002, the 10-year anniversary of the Colorado Rockies by being asked to throw out the first pitch at the season opener. Every family member was in attendance cheering him on."
