CASSIDY RODERICK '16 PROFESSES FIRST VOWS

Great Raider Cassidy Roderick ’16 is now known as Sr. Mary Simon, O.P. after taking first vows as a Dominican Sister of St. Cecilia in Nashville. In a profile in Denver Catholic, she credits the seeds of her vocation to her time in high school when a teacher shared her own vocation story in class. She is the first graduate of the Girls Division to enter religious life.
Sr. Mary Simon was part of the Regis Jesuit delegation of six students who traveled to Philadelphia during the fall of 2015 during Pope Francis’ first visit to the United States. Ahead of the trip, she was interviewed by Fox 31 Denver and expressed her excitement and enthusiasm at the prospect. “My faith is the most important thing in my life. This may be the only chance I will ever get to see the Pope in person,” she shared at the time. Through her vocation to religious life, perhaps Sr. Mary Simon will have another opportunity to encounter the Holy Father.
