Immersion Experience: Dominican Republic

Day 1

Sunup to Sundown. Airport Day.
Ben, Logan, and Phoebe here with your daily slice of life with the Kabadi clan. We rose at dawn. Around 5 o’clock we congregated in the reception area of the airport, excited yet worried for the journey ahead of us. But our will did not falter, as we had each other, and we had enough caffeine to wake a dead man. After we had fueled ourselves on airport food, we gathered onto the airplane, and a lot of us slept. Once we had taken to the skies, Sebastian didn’t know that there was free wifi... but we all learned a lot from this experience. That was the first league of our journey. With a temporary stay in New York, residing within JFK, we had obtained sustenance through burgers, milkshakes, smoothies, and fries. Some of us appreciated the food we had obtained, but some had grown ill of the foods, whether it be smoothies past their enjoyment, or people suffering from lactose. With our gullets full, we boarded our second plane and began the second league of our journey, from our home of these here United States of America, to the foreign, yet exciting Dominican Republic. And while the journey was a paltry three hours on this league, we were utterly distraught with a lack of sleep. Once we arrived, we were swamped with an inferno of security and mind-melting heat. I am not sure many of us will survive, but we will make do regardless of the losses. Once we had trudged through the security and heat to the safety of a foreign bus, we were granted the mercy of the device known as A/C, a true reprieve from the horrors of the weather. But regardless, the true final journey of our stay was alongside several car dealerships and motels. Nevertheless, we reached our final destination, the ILAC center. And after enjoying a delicious meal, consisting of sandwiches, chicken salad, quiches, and pretzel sticks, we had convened for the final time in the ILAC library, to deliver our devices and passports, and later pursue the misos, also known as kittens. After this pursuit, we retired to our quarters, as we have a long day ahead of us, and a longer week still. We will keep you informed as we can, and on that, we will see you next time.

Signing off,
Ben, Logan, Phoebe
