Alfred Rossi '58

Alfred Rossi '58, brother of Vincent '45, also deceased, and Joseph '52, passed away on January 4, 2024.

"Al grew up and thrived in north Denver (Welby). He attended Assumption Grade School and Regis Jesuit High School. He played basketball and baseball for Regis and continued to play in college – first attending Colorado College (n/k/a University of Northern Colorado) and moving on to Regis College. After graduating he taught in the Mapleton School District for over 31 years, both with elementary grades and high school grades, obtaining his Master's degree while teaching. Al retired in 1993 and went on to pursue several different endeavors including food brokering, airline work and owning his own mobile auto detailing business. He was an integral part of his wife's business from 2002 through 2019, best remembered for delivering paychecks on his Honda Scooter! Al was most content when spending time with his family. He liked to joke that he had been parenting for all of his adult life and it was not far from the truth. He will be remembered for his grandiose stories of tree people, dinosaurs and whatever he could come up with quickly to share with the kids and grandkids. The last years of his life were filled with pain and discomfort, but he handled it well. He was determined to walk again. Although his disease was part of the Alzheimer's family, his mind was relatively spared. He still knew everyone and could watch (and complain about) football, basketball and his beloved baseball." A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10:30 am at Risen Christ Catholic Church. Remembrances in Al's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.

We join the prayers of the community of Regis Jesuit with yours for the repose of Al's soul and the consolation of his family and all those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
